Industrial Temperature Networking The availability of affordable, easy-to-implement networking technology is having a profound effect on all aspects of business today. As network connectivity is integrated into devices everywhere from the factory floor to residential internet gateways, the components enabling such connectivity must be able to withstand a variety of environmental conditions.
Once well-protected by stringent temperature controls dictated by air conditioning and air flow requirements, IC devices must now function in a variety of harsh environments where such controls are minimal or non-existent. The ability to function in environments such as enclosures with restricted airflow or outdoor equipment exposed to extreme temperature conditions requires support for what is referred to as Industrial Temperature. Industrial Temperature (-40°C to +85°C) is an extension of the Commercial Temperature range (0°C to +70°C) typically used in temperature- controlled environments.
AMD is pleased to offer a portfolio of Ethernet network IC devices guaranteed functional within the Industrial Temperature range.
